An award winning fitness competitor holding pro cards from two different organizations, Trish Barchuk considers herself fortunate to be involved in a sport that has not only allowed her to discover a passion for athletic competition but allowed her to understand the inherent synergy between exercise and nutrition.
I’ve come to realize that proper nutrition coupled with the right kinds and amounts of exercise are paramount to achieving all of the goals I had set out as a competitor but are also necessary for maintaining optimal health on a daily basis. The journey in educating myself in the science of exercise and nutrition is limitless and is ongoing even today.
A certified personal trainer and fitness nutrition specialist, Trish considers herself privileged to have had the opportunity to work with some of the best trainers in the sport. Their insight and encouragement gave her the ability to pass on what she had learned to her own clients. Truly passionate about coaching others, Trish is afforded the opportunity to share all that she’s learned about training and nutrition with those that are eager to improve not only their physiques but their lives. She is however, quick to admit that her goals are not necessarily shared by her clients and helping them to discover their own goals is something which is often key to their overall success.
I’ve come to realize that everyone’s journey is different but by setting realistic and achievable goals I can help them become the best possible version of who they truly want to be. How inspiring is that?
Trish doesn’t limit her physical activities to the gym. She is an avid road cyclist and enjoys pursuing this passion not only in Beautiful British Columbia but in Europe as well. Outside the world of sport she continues to work as a hairstylist; a career which affords her the opportunity to express her creative side. Trish enjoys creating and cooking up nutrient-dense recipes to share with her family and friends and has been fortunate enough to travel the world, experiencing so much of life that falls outside the box. Those experiences have given her a perspective on how fortunate her life has been, pursuing all the things in her life that she holds dear. Life for Trish is truly a journey and not a destination.
