Halloween Date Night Caramel Popcorn

Halloween is one of my favorite times of year, but it can be extra tough to eat healthy and natural foods with so many processed treats around! You have to remember that it’s okay to indulge occasionally. I had a reader submit this recipe to me, but I modified it slightly to clean it up. I love this homemade date caramel popcorn recipe. Curl up on the couch with some scary movies and enjoy!


9 cups popped popcorn

6 Dates, pitted

1/3 cup organic extra virgin coconut oil

1/4 unpasteurized honey

1 tsp. Vanilla Extract (I use my homemade version)

Sea Salt to taste


1. Soak dates in hot water until soft, about 10 minutes.

2. Prepare air popped popcorn. (I like using the old-fashioned machines rather than microwave)

3. Heat the coconut oil and honey over low heat until melted together. Pour honey and oil into a blender with strained dates and blend well. Watch as it turns into caramel. Pour onto the popcorn and toss.

Makes 4 Servings: Serving Size= about 2 1/4 cup of popcorn

Calories per serving: 320, Protein: 2.7g, Carbohydrates: 41.0g, Fat: 19.0g
